Dani Molinero, an ESL teacher and diversity educator, revealed that her region, which is the Basque Country in the north of Spain, was hit really hard by Filomena. According to Molinero, usually, in other years, the weather is warm and it rarely snows during this time of the year. But this time, the weather is too severe to the point that even schools have been canceled.

Reddit user alphasephirot who lives in Paracuellos, Madrid, revealed that the usual weather in the city consists of cold dry winters and very hot summers. The user added that while it snows once every couple of years, the snow wouldn’t even last long in the ground. The 31-year-old further added that this was the first time they witnessed anything like Filomena and that normally, people can be seen wandering on the streets freely.

However, in the present, traffic has been terrible, and the government has been issuing warnings continuously. This unfortunate weather is expected to last at least another couple of weeks.
