This Man Films A Mountain Rescue Dog Saving Him When He’s Buried In Snow

“Such short little lives our pets have to spend with us, and they spend most of it waiting for us to come home every day,” said John Grogan, the non-fiction writer who wrote the bestselling book about his family’s dog Marley, named Marley and Me. He was a man who truly understood dogs. These particular dogs don’t just wait for you at home; they come looking for you despite hard weather.

The Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England is a charity program that trains dogs as “non-discriminatory air scenting” search dogs to assist those in need in the wild. A recently uploaded video strongly upholds their capability and melts our hearts at the same time.

The dogs at MRSD England trains their dogs to search any human scent in the air, rather than a particular person and also what to do once a human is found. They have 3 stages in their training course excluding a puppy class where dogs are socialized with other dogs and people.
It generally takes around 2-3 years to train a new dog team and currently, there are 36 dogs in the national call-out team with another 21 still in training.

During a training session, one of the trainers had hidden under snow with a camera in hand to record the hopeful rescue. It wasn’t long before the ray of hope came shooting through the pile of snow on top of him. The smile on Flo’s face, a four-year-old rescue dog at her great achievement is overwhelming.
