Artist Uses Her Eyelids As A Canvas To Create Magical Scenes

It’s absolutely mind-blowing how some people are able to create precisely detailed art from very simple things. This amazing makeup artist named Tal Peleg utilizes her own eyelids as a canvas to create truly magical scenes.

Peleg’s artworks are tiny but are very colorful and full of details. Pop culture references from movies, cartoons, TV shows, and fairytales are often used as the object in her works. Peleg stated that she can get inspired by literally anything, anywhere. Animals, nature, social issues, and mental health are some of her sources of inspiration.

In an interview with Bored Panda, Peleg stated that she has always loved and appreciated art and makeup. She said that by painting on the eye, she is able to mix both these passions. She explained: “I use the eyelid as a canvas to tell a story and to inspire people.” Peleg has started to create eyelid-art many years ago, by painting animals and fairytales on her eyelids. Over time, with practice and experience, her creations have become more and more detailed and challenging.

Peleg’s other interests and hobbies include photography, interior, and graphic design, sculpting, drawing, and painting.

The process of creating such tiny and detailed art is not simple. About the process of creating these mesmerizing looks, Peleg explained: “First I need to think about an idea, and then I sketch it on paper. After that, I start to paint it on the eye using makeup.” She said that it takes around 3-5 hours to complete the artwork, depending on the details. After the work is done, she takes several pics of it, picks the best one, and removes the makeup.

However, Peleg is no longer creating these unique pieces of expression. When asked why she said that the main reason for stopping is because she felt it’s best to stop at the top. She explained that due to creating these artworks for five years consecutively, she has grown a bit ‘tired’ of it. The stress of having to ‘deliver’ to her followers is another reason for stopping.

Peleg continued: “I got to the point where I felt like I was not creating from a pure artistic place anymore as I should have.”
