When humans live with one another for long periods, it’s natural for us to pick up each other’s habits over time. However, this isn’t unique to just humans. Animals too, when raised with a different species, can pick up various habits. This adorable pup named Winston is a great example of this. Winston is a sweet puppy that greatly loves and cherishes the love he gets from his family. It’s obvious in his behavior how much he enjoys his owners’ affection. However, not in the way that you might expect.
Ever since Winston was adopted by Beth Clark, he was raised with a bunch of cats. The Clarks rescue and foster cats, so Winston was always surrounded by felines. At Clark’s home, Winston was welcomed by six cats, and they got along with each other in such an endearing manner. However, in addition to this loving bond, Winston was heavily influenced by the cats in a quite unusual way.
At one time, when Clark pet Winston, she noticed that he was making a sound that was unusual for dogs. Surprisingly, it was none other than a purr. He was indeed purring like a cat. Clark states that she was taken aback at the beginning. However, she quickly figured out what has happened. Winston was only trying to imitate the vocal expression of felines which shows contentment.
Even today, Winston continues to do this. Although it’s rare to hear a dog purr, it shows his genuine happiness. It also shows how regardless of the species, animals greatly influence each other. Also, it proves how expressions of sincere feelings such as love and affection transcend even the most obvious differences.
